Wind damages power substation, affecting Cardston

CARDSTON – Strong overnight winds have left parts of Cardston in the dark.

According to the town, the wind damaged the substation that supplies electricity to Cardston, leaving several sections of the town without power Monday, Jan. 30. Some areas were expected to be without power throughout the day.

Due to emergency repairs, an outage of several hours was expected for an area of west Cardston bordered by 1st and 8th Streets, 4th Avenue, and the highway.
