Higher than a two story building – Castle Mountain Resort hits cumulative snowfall milestone

LETHBRIDGE – Castle Mountain Resort has become the first in Alberta to hit 700 cm (7 metres) of cumulative snowfall this season, or about 23 feet.

The next closest, is Banff’s Sunshine Village Resort at a distant 510 cm, followed by Lake Louise at 424 cm.

For those heading out to Castle Mountain, as of Saturday (March 4th) there’s a base of 228 cm, with up to 40 cm of new snow is expected this weekend.

Castle Mountain Resort is the province’s second largest ski resort, with 94 runs and nearly 3600 acres of terrain.

It’s located adjacent to Pincher Creek and the Crowsnest Pass.
