Man accused of assaulting Airdrie Walmart staff to help shoplifter escape

AIRDRIE – Police say a man assaulted Walmart staff as he helped a theft suspect escape in Airdrie.

The incident happened around noon Tuesday, March 14. Airdrie RCMP say a woman had been detained by store loss-prevention employees, who were confronted and assaulted by a male accomplice before the pair fled in a car.

The woman is described as having a thin build with dark hair that was partially dyed blonde. She was wearing black pants, a black top, and sunglasses.

The man is described as stocky with a red beard. He was in a black ball cap, grey hoodie, blue jeans, and white shoes.
