Parks Canada invites feedback on new Waterton Lakes Visitor Centre
WATERTON LAKES NATIONAL PARK – Parks Canada is hoping people from across Canada share their views on three different design options for a new visitor centre in Waterton Lakes National Park.
The new centre will be located within the townsite and will offer interpretive programming throughout the year, along with other services.
The Federal Government announced $7.6 million in funding for the new visitor centre in 2015 and construction is expected to begin sometime in 2018, with the centre opening in 2020.
Parks Canada says more than 500,000 people visit the park each year, and the current centre can not support the community’s needs anymore.
