ALERT Welcomes new Officer in Charge
EDMONTON – There is a new C-E-O in charge at the provincially funded unit that focuses on organized and serious crime in Alberta.
R-C-M-P Inspector Chad Coles, who has worked with ALERT since 2015, is replacing Superintendent Charmaine Bulger, who retired after 35 years with the Mounties.
Justice Minister Kathleen Ganley says in a release that Coles’s experience leading organized crime teams throughout the province will help him to lead the vital team of specialized units.
Coles was in charge of the regional organized crime teams in Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Red Deer during his career with ALERT and before that had been a 21-year member of the R-C-M-P working with Saskatchewan’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement unit.
