Locals nab vehicles in STARS Lottery
CALGARY – A couple of area residents can be found on the list of winners for the 2017 STARS lottery. Unfortunately, most of the new homes went to Calgary and Edmonton ticket holders.
The 24th edition of the STARS lottery had a strong finish, in spite of the depressed economy, and was 99.7 per cent sold. Roughly $12 Million was made for the air ambulance, from 3,145 prizes worth more than $4.9 million retail.
The lottery is the non-profit’s single largest source of funding in Alberta.
A news release from STARS listed this year’s top four grand prize winners are:
— Stuart Wilson of Wetaskiwin – Calgary show home worth $998,000 retail
— Don Cook of Edmonton – Edmonton show home worth $973,979 retail
— Robert Kohlman of Calgary – Red Deer show home worth $870,450 retail
— Graeme Langford of Edmonton – Lethbridge show home worth $780,000 retail
