RCMP seek Fort Macleod copper wire thieves
FORT MACLEOD – More than $15,000 worth of copper wire from heavy duty machinery has been taken from a Fort Macleod business, and RCMP are asking local scap metal dealers or even those on social media to contact them if they see or know of something suspicious.
Police say they received a report from a local rock quarry business on Monday, indicating the wiring in their vehicles had been cut out sometime overnight.
They are now asking everyone to make sure their vehicles and equipment- commercial or not- are locked, and that all valuables are removed from sight.
It’s the biggest major copper wire theft in the area in recent memory.
If anyone has any information regarding the theft, contact the Fort Macleod RCMP at 403-553-7200 or call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
