LETHBRIDGE – A five-run eighth inning helped the Lethbridge Bulls hang on for an 11-10 win over the Fort McMurray Giants Friday, June 2.
Brock Frentzel and Jesse Hillyard homered during a five-run eighth inning as the Bulls rallied after giving up seven runs in the seventh.
Just over 1,000 fans at a sunny but windy Spitz Stadium were then treated to a thrilling finish for the team’s home opener, as the Giants made it a one-run ball game before the Bulls got the final out.
Reliever Dawson Moser was credited with the win, while Chris Stodolka earned the save. Alex Bishop also went deep for the Bulls.
