Henderson Pool to open its doors for the summer June 17

Jun 5, 2017 | 1:58 PM

LETHBRIDGE – The days of spending the day splashing, sliding and swimming at Henderson Pool are just around the corner.

After some final work is completed this week, the City of Lethbridge will open the doors to the popular outdoor pool at noon on June 17.

Even though they won’t be full -time hours right away, the public will be able to use the facility on weekends until regular hours (noon- 8 pm daily, except 1-7 pm statutory holidays), resume on June 30.

June 24 there will be a Canada150 swim, where the first 150 people through the gates can swim for free.

The City of Lethbridge says new mechanical systems and the replacement of circulation equipment over the last year will also mean the pool will operate more efficiently and with improved water quality.

Even with the shortened season last year, more than 58,200 people visited the pool- and the City expects even more this coming season.
