Bulls and Okotoks now share division lead

LETHBRIDGE — Their final meeting until July 25 will have a lot riding on it.

The Lethbridge Bulls and Okotoks Dawgs are tied for the WMBL Western Division lead after a 13-8 win by Okotoks Thursday, June 29 at Spitz Stadium. The Bulls had a 3-1 lead heading into the sixth inning, before giving up five runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

Brent Semeniuk led the Bulls’ hitting with three hits and a walk, batting in two runs.

The Bulls’ starting pitcher, Wesley Moore, was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs on nine hits in 5.2 innings, also giving up three walks.

The Bulls’ sixth game in a row against the Dawgs is set for Friday June 30 in Okotoks, with the division lead on the line. Both teams are 14-8. The Edmonton Prospects are also in the chase, 1.5 games back.

The next home action for the Bulls will be July 1, a day-night doubleheader versus Yorkton.
