Changes needed to improve Alberta’s deadliest highway sections: Wildrose
EDMONTON – Alberta’s Official Opposition is demanding that the NDP Government take action to improve safety at the most dangerous intersections throughout the province.
The Wildrose party has released an interactive map showing collision statistics for the eight deadliest highway sections in Alberta over a ten year period.
The second most dangerous portion of highway in Alberta is known as of Section 8, or the area of Highway-3 that runs from Lethbridge to Fort Macleod. Between 2005 and 2014, this section of roadway registered 20 fatal collisions.
For families, it’s important to know where high risk sections of highway exist and pressure the government to take the needed action,” said Garth Hunter, Wildrose Shadow Transportation & Technology Minister.
