Jason Kenney announces intention to run for leadership of newly formed United Conservative Party
EDMONTON – Former Progressive Conservative Party leader Jason Kenney has announced his bid for the new United Conservative Party leadership position.
He made the announcement in Edmonton Saturday morning (July 29) in front of a crowd of hundreds of supporters.
Just a few days ago, former Wildrose Party Leader Brian Jean also announced his intention to run, and released a policy document outlining goals should he be chosen as the new United Conservative Party leader and if he is elected Premier.
Kenney says it will be one of the most difficult times in the province in the last 25 years.
