CRANBROOK, B.C. –  A wildfire has forced the closure of part of a busy transportation route between Alberta and B.C.

Highway 93 is closed in both directions between Castle Mountain Junction in Alberta to Radium Hot Springs in B.C.  Heavy smoke along the route has diminished visibility.

A forest fire in the area has also forced the closure of Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park.

It isn’t known when the areas will reopen. Up-dated information can be found at Drive BC.
