LETHBRIDGE – Two men have been arrested by Lethbridge Police after an officer saw some suspicious activity in the early morning hours near the City of Lethbridge Public Operations compound.

According to police, an officer on patrol saw two men riding bicycles away from the Public Ops compound along the 500 block of 4 Avenue North on Oct. 26 at approximately 4:06 a.m.

A street check was conducted given the late hour and the potential for break-ins in the area.

The two men were identified, and both were found to have outstanding warrants.

In addition, during a search incidental to arrest, one of the men was found in possession of break-in tools and methamphetamine. Police also seized property that’s believed to be stolen, including one of the bicycles.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

29-year-old Daniel Joseph McFadden of Lethbridge is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of break-in instruments and breach of a recognizance.

He was released by a Justice of the Peace with conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 7.
