Two charged after LPS search downtown apartment
LETHBRIDGE – A man and woman are in custody and facing a long list of charges in connection with a Lethbridge Police Service investigation into drug trafficking and property crime.
The short-term investigation concluded Nov. 9 with the execution of a search warrant at a unit in Galt Manor, along the 500 block of 7 Street South.
According to police, members of the Downtown Policing Unit (DPU), patrols and the Community Resource Unit seized a quantity of methamphetamine, cash, drug packaging paraphernalia, an assortment of weapons (including five swords, a machete, two hatchets, five knives, three throwing knives), $4,500 in stolen tools and numerous other stolen property. They also recovered several hundred BMX bike parts and five bikes that had been altered or were in the process of being altered.
Seven adults and two children were in the home at the time of the search warrant, and two were subsequently charged, while the rest were released without charges.
