Berth in B-qualifier on line for Scheidegger at provincial Scotties

MEDICINE HAT – A berth in the B-qualifier is on the line for Lethbridge’s Casey Scheidegger at the Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Scheidegger’s Grande Prairie-based rink defeated Laura Crocker 7-4 Thursday, Jan. 12 following a loss earlier in the day. Scheidegger takes on defending provincial champion Shannon Kleibrink Friday morning. The winner will advance to the B-qualifier Friday night against either Val Sweeting or Delia DeJong.

Jodi Marthaller of the Lethbridge Curling Club is now in the C event after losing to DeJong 10-7 Thursday. She takes on Nadine Scotland Friday morning.

Chelsea Carey of Calgary won the A-qualifier with a 7-5 win over Sweeting Thursday evening. She’ll play the winner of the B-qualifier Saturday evening.
