Former AMA executive who took millions sentenced to five years

EDMONTON – A former executive at the Alberta Motor Association has been sentenced to five years for swindling his employer of 8 million dollars.

James Gladden, a former vice-president of information technology at the AMA, earlier pleaded guilty to fraud.

Court heard that he bought two Porsches, a home in Scottsdale, Arizona and expensive watches.

The AMA says it has been able to recover about 3 million dollars from selling off his assets as well as insurance.
