LETHBRIDGE – Chief Rob Davis will remain as head of the Lethbridge Police Service for another three years.

Davis’ contract was renewed by the city’s Police Commission and according to Chair Peter Deys, he was hired to bring an outside perspective to the Service and was given a mandate of change.

“The Commission fully supports the changes to the organization Chief Davis has made over the past three years and believes it is prudent to give him the time to continue with the changes that are in progress and those on the horizon.”

Davis was sworn in as Chief in January 2015, and his initial contract was for four years, with an option for a two-year extension.

He began his career in 1990, as an Auxiliary Constable with the Haldimand-Norfolk, Regional Police Service in southern Ontario. Over the next 25 years, Davis rose through the ranks, beginning as a Constable on the Six Nations Police Service and also working with the RCMP in Ottawa and with the Nishnawabe Aski Service in northern Ontario. His most recent posting prior to Lethbridge was as Chief of Police in Dryden, Ontario.
