Lawyers hired for two men in Blood Tribe murder case
LETHBRIDGE – Two Blood Tribe men charged with second degree murder have each retained a lawyer.
Stanley Troy Big Sorrel Horse and Justin Chad Big Sorrel Horse stood side-by-side in a small room at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre Wednesday, Mar. 7, as they appeared in court via CCTV.
Agents speaking on their behalf explained that Stanley has retained Claudia Connolly to represent him, while Justin has hired Greg White. They were then granted an adjournment to Apr. 5.
The charges stem from an incident on the Blood Reserve on Feb. 23, in which Blood Tribe Police responded to a report of a man in distress. The man, identified as 26-year-old Rance Bearhat, was transported to the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge where he was pronounced dead.
