Hamilton Tiger-Cats name former rush end Joe Montford to Wall of Honour
HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats named former rush end Joe Montford for induction on the CFL club’s Wall of Honour on Thursday.
Montford’s name and No. 53 will be added at Tim Hortons Field during halftime of Hamilton’s game against the Edmonton Eskimos on Aug. 23.
“Joe Montford was not only one of the best players in Tiger-Cats franchise history, but also CFL history,” owner Bob Young said in a statement. “Being enshrined onto the Wall of Honour is the single largest acknowledgment of excellence the franchise and alumni association can provide.
“It symbolizes elite performance over a sustained period wearing the Black and Gold as evidenced by the legendary names honoured in the past.”
