Lethbridge man charged with sex offences involving young girl denied legal aid
LETHBRIDGE – A 37-year old man charged with more than half a dozen sexual offences involving a 13-year old girl has been denied legal aid.
In Lethbridge Provincial Court Thursday, May 3, Lawyer Miranda Hlady, acting as an agent for Lippa, asked the judge for an adjournment so he could make a Rowbotham Application to get court ordered legal aid.
Lippa, clean-cut and dressed in a black dress shirt and jeans, said nothing.
According to ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE), he was arrested at his home on Feb. 22, 2018, and several of his computers and electronic devices were seized. Lethbridge Police and RCMP assisted in the investigation after information was received in Sept, 2017.
