Nitro Circus going next level with all-new moto show at the U of L

LETHBRIDGE – The University of Lethbridge Community Sports Stadium is preparing to host the Next Level Tour, a high-octane action sports show put on by Nitro Circus on Sunday.

It’s described as the ultimate full-moto show ever seen, which will feature action sports athletes taking on the biggest ramps in the world, and gets underway at 5 p.m.

One of the athletes taking part today, Bruce Cook from Kelowna and his riders, will take on some of those ramps.

Cook has quite the backstory, as back in 2014 his career was nearly ended when he attempted the world’s first double front flip on a motorcycle, but over-rotated on the attempt, crashed and broke his back.

As a result, he lost the use of his legs, but he was determined to not let his setback end his career so Cook began training with a more intense regiment.

All the training by Cook made a difference, as he became paraplegic to backflip a motorcycle on Oct. 14, 2015, at an event in Toronto.

Nitro Circus produces television shows, critically acclaimed documentaries and innovative digital offerings. The FMX Next Level takeoff ramp is 15 feet above the show floor, which is five feet taller than anything toured before, and will launch riders more than 60 feet into the air.

Nitro Circus’ vice-president Dov Ribnick said he’s stoked to be taking this set on the road in a news release.

“This really is a breakthrough in FMX and the team we have assembled can’t wait to throw down the biggest new tricks in FMX on this tour,” Ribnick added

At each tour stop, including Lethbridge, a panel of judges will determine a winner with the overall champion crowned at the end of the tour.

Tickets for the show in Lethbridge are still available and can be purchased here.
