Teacher now facing allegations of making child porn, voyeurism
LETHBRIDGE – The charges against a southern Alberta teacher have been amended to include making, printing, publishing or possessing for the purpose of publishing child pornography, as well as voyeurism.
Previously, Mark Anderson of Pincher Creek had faced charges of possessing, accessing, and distributing child porn. The possessing and accessing charges remain as part of the new information.
A member of ALERT (Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams) confirmed the amendment Tuesday evening, June 12, following a court appearance earlier in the day in Pincher Creek. They could not however, comment on the allegations behind the amended charges.
The 44-year-old teacher who had been working on the Piikani Nation was arrested on Jan. 12, after an investigation by the ALERT Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit. It also involved Pincher Creek and Piikani Nation RCMP, as well as the Lethbridge Police Service.
