LETHBRIDGE – The Share it Forward Campaign held between June 15 and June 17 at Save-On-Foods locations in Lethbridge is being touted as a success by local food banks.

Share it Forward was held at every store in Western Canada, whereby 25 per cent of the profits up to a maximum of $250,000 in total on all Western Family items sold during the campaign went directly to support the foodbanks.

$3000 was raised to support both the Lethbridge Food Bank and Interfaith Food Bank.

In a release, Lethbridge Food Bank Executive Director Maral Kiani Tari said they’re grateful for this event and support, which will help them assist individuals in need in our community.

After the winter season, donations to the Food Bank tend to go down, but their clients still come in for food.

This campaign, like the recent Target Hunger campaign, is important for the local food banks to help them continue to restock their shelves.
