Whitecaps’ Alphonso Davies sits out match vs Sounders with “club’s permission”
SEATTLE — Canadian teenage star Alphonso Davies sat out the Vancouver Whitecaps’ 2-0 loss to the Seattle Sounders on Saturday afternoon.
Prior to the game, the team announced on Twitter that Davies had the “club’s permission” to miss the match.
Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson said after the game that the 17-year-old had remained in Vancouver.
“I think you’ll read a little bit more news in the coming day or two, but obviously it’s positive for him and us,” he said.
