LETHBRIDGE – The Lethbridge Bulls, along with every other team in the Western Major Baseball League, will be playing more regular season games starting next season.

In a release from the league, President Kevin Kvame says it was determined that both teams and fans would benefit from an extension of the regular season to offer more home games during the best weather of the summer.

In the past, the regular season has consisted of 48 games, 24 on home field, followed by best of five playoff series.

Starting in 2019, the regular season will be extended into the first week of August and the WMBL will offer 56 games, which includes 28 home games.

As in past years, the regular season will be followed by the same playoff format. However, recognizing the need for college players to get back to their universities, rather than best of five series, beginning in 2019 all playoff series will be best of three series.
