Bulls face elimination after home loss to Mavericks

LETHBRIDGE – The Bulls are staring into the brink of elimination, after a 9-4 loss to the Medicine Hat Mavericks Thursday, Aug. 2.

Lethbridge took an early 3-1 lead before giving up four runs in the fourth inning. The Bulls stranded nine runners during the game. Blake MacDonald had a pair of hits, including a first-inning single that drove in two runs.

Starting pitcher Jesse Hilyard gave up six runs on 12 hits over six innings. The Mavericks homered three times during the game.

The loss means Medicine Hat has a 2-1 series lead and can advance to the next round with a win over the Bulls. Game four is Friday, Aug. 3 at 7:05 p.m.
