RAYMOND – The Town of Raymond has announced that major changes will be coming to the municipally owned nine-hole golf course.

As part of a 1.6-million-dollar flood mitigation project, the Town has increased and added many features to the course which has been rebranded and will now be called “Hell’s Creek – Raymond Golf & Footgolf Course.”

Five additional ponds have been added, as well as an expanded creek that runs the entire length of the course.

All holes have seen improvements and now feature tee boxes for junior golfers all the way up to professionals. Many of the holes have been lengthened and adjusted to make it a challenging yet enjoyable golf experience according to the Town.

Hell’s Creek will now feature one of the fastest worldwide growing sports: Footgolf.

Raymond is now an official member of the Canadian Footgolf Association, and its the first community south of Calgary to feature full footgolf amenities.

With this new direction and brand, the Town of Raymond expects to become a hotspot for golf and footgolf in Southern Alberta.

In a release, the Town states this isn’t a typical nine-hole golf course as the new tee boxes and water features, along with firm and fast greens, will leave golfers of all levels satisfied and wanting to accept the Hell’s Creek challenge.

With this investment and new a vision, the Town of Raymond also expects the golf course will become a fully profitable entity.
