UPDATED: Vehicle crashes into home near Readymade, east of Coaldale
COALDALE – A woman in her 70s is in Chinook Regional Hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries, after the Pontiac Vibe she was driving Thursday afternoon, Aug. 30, left Hwy 512, veered off the road and into a ditch, hit a tree, then crashed and wedged into the northwest corner of a home.
A mother and her children were in the house at the time but were not injured. Police say the vehicle crashed into the front porch and into a child’s bedroom.
The woman was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by members of the Coaldale Fire Department.
The vehicle was stuck for several hours while engineers assessed the structural integrity of the home.
