Lethbridge cannabis retail stores could open as early as Oct. 18
LETHBRIDGE – While there may not be any cannabis retail stores opening exactly on Oct. 17 in Lethbridge, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be a store or two ready to open a short time later.
Kaleigh Miller, Senior Communications Spokesperson for AGLC, says the list of 17 retail locations across the province released last week, simply indicates that those business owners, as of Oct. 5, were ready for their final inspections, had their municipal development permit, and were prepared for any minor storefront issues to be addressed by the legalization date.
“As of the 17th we will have those stores open, and then we will see a continuous on-boarding of retailers on the 18th, 19th, 20th and so on. And by the end of October, we anticipate being closer to the range of 80 to 100 retail stores across the province.”
Those that are ready to open are located mainly in the central and northern half of the province, although two are also located in Calgary, along with three stores in Medicine Hat.
