Calgary trio accused of copper theft on City of Lethbridge property

LETHBRIDGE – Two men and a woman from Calgary are charged with stealing copper wire from a City of Lethbridge property.

The property in question is on the 4400 block of 28 Street N. Police were called at around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 to a report of three people in a truck stealing copper.

Officers arrived to find a suspect vehicle with pieces of cut wire in the back and three people inside. They also found wire sticking out of the ground, wrapped with a steel tow chain.

The three are charged with theft and mischief under $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
