Charities to benefit from Flames, Oilers licence plates

CALGARY – Your back bumper could be the latest front in the Battle of Alberta.
Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers fans can now support their favourite team with a custom Alberta licence plate. Starting Monday, Nov. 19 the plates can be ordered from registry agents, following an unveiling Saturday in Calgary.
The plates have a one-time fee of $75, not including registry charge. Of that, $55 will go to the Calgary Flames Foundation or the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (depending on which plate you order). The other $20 covers costs.
The Flames plate is red, with a large logo next to the number. The slogan at the bottom reads, “C of Red lives here.” The Oilers plate is orange and navy blue, with the slogan, “Let’s go Oilers.”
