Flu numbers so far include one death in Calgary zone

ALBERTA – Three patients in the Alberta Health Services south zone have been hospitalized with lab-confirmed cases of influenza, according to numbers released Nov. 22.
That’s out of a province-wide total of 290, most of them in the Calgary zone. That region has also recorded one death of a patient with lab-confirmed influenza.
In the south zone, 56 people have had confirmed cases of influenza A, with one additional case of influenza B. Provincewide, the numbers are 1,411 cases of influenza A and 13 cases of influenza B.
So far, 944,611 Albertans have received a flu shot, including 73,484 in the south zone. Last year’s total was 1,229,350 doses provincewide, and 92,391 in the south zone.
