Lethbridge man charged in string of thefts from vehicles

LETHBRIDGE —  A 39 year old city man has been charged with  numerous counts of possession of stolen property in connection with thefts from vehicles over the past few days.

On Monday (Nov 26) the Downtown Policing Unit patrolling along the 600 block of 4 Avenue South, found the suspect in possession of a large quantity of stolen property including numerous credit and bank cards, identity documents, cheques and a camera.

The man initially fled the scene but was apprehended a short time later. Further investigation determined the property had been stolen from vehicles between Nov. 23 to 25.

Garon Jesse Plaited Hair, is charged with five counts of possession of identity documents, four counts of possession of stolen credit cards, three counts of use of a stolen credit card and four counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Plaited Hair was released on a recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 11.

Police remind the public to always lock vehicle doors and never leave any valuables inside. If you absolutely must store property temporarily put it in the trunk, a truck lock box or ensure it is out of plain sight, to anyone peering into the vehicle.
