Cardston RCMP charge woman with extortion, assault

CARDSTON – A 35-year-old woman from Moses Lake, Alta., is facing a number of charges after an investigation by RCMP in Cardston. 

On Dec. 18, police investigated alleged extortion and assault of an individual from Cardston. 

RCMP learned through the investigation that the individual had been assaulted over a period of three months and extorted out of approximately $8000. 

Karla Renae Black Plume faces counts of extortion, unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
