LETHBRIDGE — She wasn’t expected until January 5, but made a New Year’s appearance.  Mother Karla Rivas gave birth to seven-pound, seven-ounce Amanda Cristabel at the Chinook Regional Hospital at 12:24 Tuesday morning.

Mom and baby are doing well.

As for New Year’s babies at other hospitals around the region, AHS – South Zone Communications Coordinator, Patrick Burles, confirmed a New Year’s Day baby was welcomed at Pincher Creek hospital, although no details were immediately available. Maternity wards in Taber, Brooks and Cardston indicated no births were imminent.
