Three goal third period helps Hurricanes to 3-2 win over Ice
LETHBRIDGE – A defensive battle through 40 minutes of play turned into a shootout in the 3rd period on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the ENMAX Centre that saw the Lethbridge Hurricanes score three consecutive goals to defeat the Kootenay Ice 3-2.
Early on in the 1st period the Hurricanes would find themselves in penalty trouble but would kill three straight penalties in the frame.
After the 1st period, Lethbridge and Kootenay were scoreless with the shots on goal favouring the Hurricanes 10-6.
Saturday’s game was a rematch of Wednesday’s matchup between the two teams, including both starting goaltenders from that game back in net as Carl Tetachuk got the start for Lethbridge while Jesse Makaj was manning the crease for the Ice.
