LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge County administration has been recognized for their hard work.

The institution has received an award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for excellence in financial budgeting in 2018.

The award given to the County is the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, and this is the eight year in a row Lethbridge County has received the award, this time for the 2018-2020 budget.

A release from the County stated that to get the award, it had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines and detailed criteria for effective budget presentation.

“County staff are committed to excellence in all we do,” said Chief Administrative Officer Ann Mitchell in the release.

“There is a lot of hard work and many hours put into the budget document each year to ensure accountability to our citizens. This award is well-deserved by our Finance department.”

The award was presented to the department during the County Council meeting on Feb. 14, 2019. The 2018-2020 Budget can be viewed at: http://lethcounty.ca/government/publications
