Pronghorn women’s rugby team to battle for sevens title in Vancouver
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Entering the final stop of the 2019 Canada West Sevens Series, the Lethbridge Pronghorns women’s rugby team sits in third place in the overall standings, just two points back of the second place Victoria Vikes and five points back of the leading UBC Thunderbirds.
With 15 points on the line for the final tournament win, the Pronghorns will need to win the final stop and have UBC finish no better than fourth and Victoria no better than third place to take home the 2019 series title.
With Thompson Rivers having to pull out the event, the tournament will now be a straight round-robin without a playoff round, meaning the top team after the six-game round robin will take home the tournament title.
At the first stop in Alberta, the Pronghorns went 4-1 and finished in second place, with their lone loss coming in the finals versus the UBC Thunderbirds.
