Coulee Fest returning to Lethbridge College for its third year

LETHBRIDGE, AB – After a successful first two years, Lethbridge College has announced that Coulee Fest will be returning to campus for a third year this September.

It was initially launched as part of the college’s 60th-anniversary celebrations back in 2017 and has become an annual celebration for the college and the entire community. Approximately 3,500 people attended Coulee Fest in 2018.

This year’s event will be taking place on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Alumni Relations coordinator and Coulee Fest organizer Sydney Wakaruk says the community reaction made it obvious that Coulee Fest should continue to be a part of their campus celebrations.

“The goal of the festival remains the same – we want to bring together the entire Southern Alberta community for a fun-filled day as a way to say thank you to everyone who has supported the college and its place in the Lethbridge community for more than 60 years,” Wakaruk added.

Major details will be confirmed as the year moves along, but a release from the college states the staples of Coulee Fest will continue, including live entertainment, food trucks, beer gardens, program information, family fun and more.

What the Junk outdoor market will also return for a second year, bringing more than 35 vendors, offering a range of handmade home decor, antiques, up-cycled clothing and more.

Coulee Fest 2019 planning is in its early stages, so food trucks, entertainment or vendors interested in being a part of the festivities are encouraged to contact the college to talk about possibly getting involved.
