Lethbridge Police recruiting volunteers for The Watch program set to start in May
LETHBRIDGE, AB – One of the new programs that the Lethbridge Police Service is rolling out to help deal with the drug crisis in downtown is now recruiting volunteers.
LPS has announced Jeff Hansen, who has an extensive background working with law enforcement and social services in Canada and the US, as the new manager of The Watch set to begin on May 1.
Hansen began his new role as Watch Manager earlier this week, and his first order of business is to recruit his new team of volunteers.
“I’m thrilled to be part of The Watch program and extremely eager to get the new team trained and out on the street. Initially, we’re looking for 25 volunteers, and that number will grow as the demand grows, but that’s what we’ll start with,” Hansen said.
