COALDALE –  ***Up-Dated information.

A situation which involved both RCMP and the Lethbridge Police tactical team was safely concluded shortly after 6:00 Friday evening.

Lethbridge Police were contacted by Coaldale RCMP and asked to check on a person who was believed to be at a home near 10 Ave. and 21 St. South in Lethbridge.

Officers with the Tactical Unit attended the scene, and other officers stood near the home with rifles drawn while the LPS Rescue Truck parked on the lawn of a home. Police blocked access along the entire block for a period of time.

A short time later, LPS Sergeant Kyle Meyers said the matter in Lethbridge was quickly resolved.  The individual they were looking for was not at the home and the situation moved to Coaldale’s jurisdiction.

In Coaldale, RCMP blocked a section of 20th Ave. and officers surrounded a house.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. an officer and EMS attended the home and successfully resolved the situation.

RMCP indicate the situation involved a health issue and the person involved was determined to be under considerable stress, but with the assistance of friends is in no danger.

As this is not a criminal matter and the public is not at risk there will be no further information released.
