Police seize weapons, drugs from downtown apartment unit

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Police arrested one man after discovering drugs and weapons in a residence.
After receiving complaints regarding suspicious activity, officers attended an apartment building along the 200 block of 2 Avenue South. Police determined that the tenant of the unit, who was not present when officers arrived, had been allowing people to come and go, stay over and sell drugs from the downtown residence.
A man and woman were found inside the unit, and police noticed drugs and ammunition out in plain view. One of the people on scene told officers about a firearm in the unit. Police found and seized a 12-gauge shotgun, nearly 100 rounds of ammunition, methamphetamine, carfentanil, eight knives, a battle axe and many stolen credit cards.
