LETHBRIDGE, AB – A trial scheduled for May 21, 2019 for 35- year-old Kristina Lucille Zinger has been re-scheduled.

Zinger, who appeared in Lethbridge Provincial Court on Thursday, April 18 – in this instance – is facing charges of possession of counterfeit money, uttering counterfeit money, making counterfeit money, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and fraud under $5,000. She has already been represented by two lawyers.

She is now represented by Defense Attorney Andre Ouellet.

The Crown applied for and received an adjournment application because two officers who were scheduled to either testify or otherwise take part in the trial, will be out of the country.

Crown Counsel explained that there have been attempts to resolve the case, however Zinger has delayed the process – something which Judge M.C. Christopher acknowledged and agreed with.

A new trial was scheduled for Aug. 2, 2019.

A second trial in which Zinger is facing more than two dozen other charges including possession of a dangerous weapon, firearms possession, forgery, possession of stolen property and obstructing a peace officer is scheduled for Aug. 13, 2019.

Zinger is out on bail on several conditions, including that she live with her mother, abide by a curfew, and abstain from alcohol and drugs.

Lethbridge Police say back on March 1, 2018, members of the Economic Crimes Unit executed three search warrants at a hotel room, a westside residence and a U-Haul. The searches resulted in the seizure of printer cartridges, sheets of paper and clippings of counterfeit U.S. currency. Police say some of the US bills had serial numbers on them matching those of several bills passed at local businesses. A stolen license plate, printer and other items were also recovered.
