Final election polling results give Lethbridge-West to Phillips by small margin

LETHBRIDGE — All of the outstanding provincial election polls, including the “Advance Poll vote anywhere” numbers have now been counted by Elections Alberta.

Shannon Phillips is the first New Democrat-elect MLA to be re-elected in Southern Alberta.

Phillips won the riding of Lethbridge-West by a slim margin of 225 votes over the UCP candidate Karri Flatla. Phillips gathered 11,016 votes, or 45.2 per cent, to Flatla’s 44.3 per cent, or 10,791 votes.

The unofficial voter turnout is 71.1% based on 1,880,508 votes cast and 2,643,453 registered electors.
