Three from Lethbridge facing drug trafficking charges in Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Three people from Lethbridge are facing multiple charges in Medicine Hat following an investigation into alleged methamphetamine trafficking last week.

According to a release from the Medicine Hat Police Service, officers received information about a drug trafficker from Lethbridge allegedly supplying methamphetamine to dealers in Medicine Hat on April 17.

Investigators set up a deal, and arrested three people from Lethbridge on April 18.

Police seized approximately 14 ounces of methamphetamine, and also seized break in tools and a small calibre rifle.

Johnathan Simonar, 36, has been charged with one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, possession of break in instruments, and trafficking by offer. He has also been charged with two counts of failure to comply with probation and five counts of breach of recognizance.

Deserai Scout, 23, has been charged with one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property.

Justin Mohrman, 26, has been charged with one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm contrary to a court order.

According to the release, the street value of the drugs seized is approximately $37,500.

Simonar and Mohrman were remanded into custody, while Scout was released on a $4,000 no-cash recognizance.

All three were scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on Tuesday, April 23.
