Police seeking armed robbery suspect

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Police in Lethbridge are investigating two armed robberies.

On April 28, Lethbridge Police Service said that at around 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Co-op gas bar along the 300 block of University Drive.

The investigation found that a male wearing a hoodie with the hood up, a balaclava and ski goggles, entered the business, took out a weapon and demanded cash. An undisclosed amount of money was handed over and the man fled from the scene.

On April 29, at around 10:22 p.m., police responded to a similar robbery at Urban Cellers along Mic Mac Boulevard after a male wearing the same outfit entered the business, withdrew a weapon and demanded money. Cash was provided and the subject again ran from the scene.

No one was injured during the incidents and the investigation is ongoing.

LPS described the suspect as male, standing about 5’8 to 5’11 tall with an average to athletic build. He was wearing an Under Armour-brand hoodie and light-coloured pants. As mentioned above, in both cases, the hood was up, his face was covered, and he was wearing ski goggles.
