Chief Mountain border crossing opens for the season this week

BABB, MT – The Chief Mountain border crossing will be re-opening for the season this week.

On Wednesday, May 15, the Canada Border Service Agency will open the port, which is located along Highway 6 in Alberta and connects the town of Babb, Montana with Pincher Creek, Alberta on the Canada-US border.

Last year, according to the federal government, more than 68,000 people entered Canada at Chief Mountain and officers are prepping for another busy season.

The Chief Mountain hours of operation are as follows:

May 15 – May 31, 2019: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

June 1 – September 2, 2019: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

September 3 – September 30: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WILD HORSE

In addition, the Wild Horse port of entry will be extending its hours for the season as of May 15. Wild Horse is located 68 kilometres north of Havre, Montana on US Highway 232 and 145 kilometres south of Medicine Hat on Highway 41 in Alberta.

Its hours will be as follows:

May 15 – September 30, 2019: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

October 1, 2019 to May 14, 2020: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
