Woman testifies about strange dynamic in home shared with Winnipeg murder suspect

WINNIPEG — A woman says there was a strange dynamic in a house five women shared with a man accused of killing one of them.

Holley Sullivan told court today that, despite horrific abuse, the women were jealous of each other and were vying for the attention of Perez Cleveland.

Cleveland, who is 46, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the killing of 42-year-old Jennifer Barrett.

Barrett’s body was found in a barrel in the backyard of their Winnipeg home in December 2016.

Sullivan is currently serving time after pleading guilty for her role in hiding Barrett’s body in the barrel.

When the defence pointed to scams Sullivan took part in and a statement where she lied to police, she responded that she was just trying to take care of Cleveland.
