RCMP investigate serious collision on Highway 5

Welling, AB – RCMP are investigating a serious collision that occurred Monday morning (May 27) near the intersection of Highway 5 and Range Road 215.

Police say just before 9 a.m., a westbound pickup truck collided with an eastbound semi-truck and trailer on the highway.

The 61-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was airlifted to the hospital by air ambulance, while the driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

Raymond/Magrath RCMP remain on the scene, along with a collision analyst and the area has been re-opened to traffic.
